Description
The Sony ECM-W3S is a single-channel wireless microphone system built for solo creators, vloggers and interviewers using Sony Alpha and vlog cameras. It pairs one microphone-transmitter with an ultra-compact single-channel receiver that slots directly onto a compatible camera's Multi Interface (MI) Shoe for a fully digital, cable-free and battery-free connection at the camera end.
Using Bluetooth 5.3 (Bluetooth Low Energy) with the LC3plus codec, the system delivers low-latency, high-quality audio at ranges up to 150 m in clear line-of-sight conditions. The receiver adds 3.5mm TRS and USB-C outputs so it can also feed cameras and devices that lack an MI Shoe, and can record analog and digital signals mixed or on separate channels for post-production flexibility.
The lightweight transmitter (approx. 17 g) has a built-in microphone and accepts an external lavalier, and the dust- and moisture-resistant design allows outdoor use.
